New Delhi: Mobile ringtones are now on the grocery list with Big Bazaar retailing India's first all-mobile, all-operator ringtone cards.
One 97 Communications, a mobile value added services provider has launched this new ringtone card. Its exclusive tie up with Pantaloons has helped the company cut supply chain costs.
Where a single ringtone from a service provider costs at least Rs 10, a three-ringtone card available accross Big Bazaars can be bought for just Rs 18.
"Sale of ringtone cards is booming. We are selling 300 cards per day and are planning to introduce them into all 53 stores across the country over the next few weeks," President Communication Division, Pantaloon, Neeran Chhiber said.
The ringing success of these cards has attracted other retailers as well.
One 97 Communications is said to be in talks with at least three other retailers. Now one may see these ringtone cards fight for shelf space across Barista and Cafe Coffee Day outlets.
After success with ringtone cards, One 97 Communications is set to launch picture messaging, music messaging content, astro and mobile game cards also.
