New Delhi: After Tuesday's blasts in Gorakhpur, explosives are recovered in Faizabad.

Following the incidents, Uttar Pradesh is put on high alert resulting in deployment of extra force in all the districts of the state.

Police have found 10 kg of explosives in a bag in the waiting room at the Faizabad Railway station.

It has been identified tentatively as Ammonium Nitrate or Nitric Acid. The confirmation will come only after tests are conducted.

Police said the explosives found in Faizabad are of low intensity and were intended to cause a scare.

The police were already put on a high alert following bomb blasts in Gorakhpur on Tuesday and the stepped up search operations resulted in the recovery of the explosives.

The Hindu Yuva Vahini has called for a bandh in the Gorakhpur city on Wednesday following Tuesday evening’s three bomb blasts.

The blasts occurred within 500 metres of each other. The first bomb went off at around 1840 hrs (IST) and was followed by other two in gap of five minutes.

The crude bombs were placed in polythene bags and tiffin boxes on bicycles and motorcycles.

The 12 people injured in the incident are being treated at a local hospital in Gorakhpur.
