Now, IIM Ahmedabad to go global

Ahmedabad: After IIM Bangalore decided to spread it's wings abroad, it is the turn of IIM Ahmedabad to look overseas for expansion.

Thanks to a deal with French B-school Essec, IIM Ahmedabad is all set to conduct management and research programmes in Singapore.

The collaboration with Essec allows the institute to exchange in-faculty and doctoral candidates as well.

IIM Ahmedabad Director, Bakul Dholakia says, "The coming years are going to be the times of strategic alliances and if any organisation wants to go global or have it's presence felt in the wider international market, then this is the best way to proceed."

But why this sudden interest in Singapore?

The directors of all the IIM's feel that besides cashing-in on the Indian Diaspora in the island nation, the schools will also enjoy international exposure.

This is IIM Ahmedabad's second significant deal with Essec.

In November last year the school had started a dual degree management program with the French B-school in Paris.
