New Delhi: The excitement about US Presidential elections in India began with the Indian-Americans and particularly Democrats based in India.
Scores of second generation Indian-Americans are in the vanguard of Barack Obama's army in India.
All Democrat volunteers are pushing American citizens in India to get out and vote for Obama.
"We are making a big push. We know there are tens and thousands of citizens living in India," says Carolyn Suavage Mar, Chairperson, Democrats-Abroad.
Carolyn's leading the charge of Obama's Army manning the phone lines 24x7, answering e-mails and posting messages online with one aim - to get out a vote in favour of Obama.
This is actually a real window into US politics. What the volunteers of the Obama camp are actually doing is what they call phone-banking. Efforts show the American art to utilize the information and communication technology to the fullest.
"Every vote counts like in 2004 in Florida. We can make a difference," says a volunteer.
And when the spirits flag there is nothing like the all American brownie and cans of beer to get moving again.
