New Delhi: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has been missing in action for a while now from the big screen. But now the lady is back with a string of movies and a thing or two to say about the obscenity case against her.
The actress was in the Capital for the launch of a jewellery store on Thursday. CNN-IBN’s Iram Mirza spoke to her just in the nick of time.
Iram Mirza: What is it that brings a glitter in your eyes?
Shilpa Shetty: Diamonds bring glitter in my eyes. Right now may be Shadi Kar Ke Phas Gaya doing well at the box office, that would really bring a twinkle to my eyes.
Iram Mirza: We haven’t seen much of you this year in the commercial cinema, so was that a sabbatical of some sort?
Shilpa Shetty: No nothing like that. Nothing has ever been planned in my life and that is why you see me on and off the commercial scene.
I have been working on a couple a projects, which are going to be released this year. Some films of mine have been delayed off late like Shadi Kar Ke Phas Gaya. But I'm glad it has seen light of the day at the end of it all now.
My fortcoming projects include Apne by Anil Sharma that I’m doing with the Deols. Vesides that I have been working on UTV's new film Metro with Anurag Basu.
Iram Mirza: Which is one dream role that you sort of yearn to do?
Shilpa Shetty: As an actor you are very greedy and you want more. I just want something that gives me the opportunity to do my song and dance bit. I absolutely love doing dance numbers.
Iram Mirza: Recently the Madurai High Court slapped you with some obscenity charges?
Shilpa Shetty: I don’t want to give it much importance. I have full faith in the judicial system and I'm sure that they will do their best in this regard. Anyhow that was a an idiotic case after all.
