Bhubaneshwar: A contractor in Koraput district of Odisha has been killed by suspected Naxals. The 40-year-old contractor Jami Pradhan of Narayanpatna, who was engaged in the construction of a road from Laxmipur to Raryanpatna in Koraput district, was hacked to death.
Pradhan's killing is the second Naxal strike in the state in less than a week. His body was spotted with his throat slit and lying in a pool of blood near Jetal by villagers in early on Friday. According to police Pradhan was reportedly killed on Thursday night while returning from his work site.
Earlier, Odisha Police assistant sub inspector Krupa Ram Majhi was executed by suspected Naxals in Nuapada district of the state.

The contractor, Jami Pradhan, was engaged in the construction of a road from Laxmipur to Raryanpatna.
Odisha has seen a spurt on attacks by suspected Naxals in the last few weeks. Earlier BJD MLA Jhina Hikaka was released on April 26 after being in the Naxals' custody for over a month.
Days before that, abducted Italian Paolo Bosusco was released by the Naxals in Odisha on April 11, after being in captivity for 29 days.
