Odisha: Retd Army doctor allegedly chops wife into 300 pieces

Bhubaneswar: A 71-year-old Retired Army doctor, Somnath Parida, in Odisha was arrested on Friday for allegedly murdering his 62-year-old wife. He had allegedly cut her into 300 pieces and was trying to dispose her in parts.

The crime came to light when the brother-in-law was not allowed inside the house and called the police about a foul smell. The couple was staying alone as their children stay abroad.

Police say there was a history of marital abuse complaint against the doctor. Police also says he has admitted to having chopped his wife's body into 300 pieces.
