Kendrapara (Orissa): Fulla Nayak, who lives in Karapur village, Orissa, is said to be 120 years old and still going strong.
Fulla is said to be the oldest resident of her village and perhaps even the oldest woman in the world but that doesn't stop her from enjoying a quiet smoke or a glass of wine.
"I eat everything what is given to me but I am fond of tobacco and wine," Fulla says.
There is no birth certificate to prove Fulla's age but the age of her children gives one a fair idea – her eldest daughter Bela Bawa is 92 and her eldest grandson is 72.
Fulla has been living with her youngest daughter, 80-year-old Parvati, since her husband's death.
Parvati says her mother is healthy despite her addictions. "Our mother has got special blessings from the God. She must have eaten good food at her early age unlike us. We are happy that our mother has survived for so long," Parvati says.
The villagers of Karapur now want Fulla’s name in the Guiness Book of World Records as the world's oldest woman. They also say that they would like to establish her age through scientific methods.
But Fulla herself is not too keen on the idea, she says her only wish is to offer thanks to Lord Jagannath at Puri for blessing her with a long and happy life.
