New Dehli: After a tumultuous reception at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by cheering fans, the Olympic bronze medal winners, wrestler Sushil Kumar and boxer Vijender Kumar were at the Rashtrapati Bhavan with the other members of the contingent.

President Prathiba Patel gifted Vijender and Sushil momentos.

Next on the agenda was a face to face with vice-president Hamid Ansari.

After a few hours of rest, they were off again to 10 Janpath where they met the President of the Congress Party, Sonia Gandhi.

The prime minister Manmohan Singh was the last dignitary on the agenda for the day for both Vijender and Sushil.

India's latest sporting heroes enjoyed the adulation showered on them by a grateful nation.

Vijender said, “Human being are never satisfied. Even I am not satisfied. This time I have won a bronze medal, but I will get gold from London next time. We have no grievances against anybody. If we hadn't recieved facilities, we probably wouldn't have returned with medals.”

Sushil said, “I will get ready for The Asian Games in 2010 and London Olympics, our coach is coaching us.”

Akhil said, “Common Wealth Games 2010 and Asian Games are my targets. Those performances will count for London’s Olympic in 2012, which is my main target. The whole federation, camper, coaches have all contributed for this success.”

Arriving by the same flight were officials of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), including its president Suresh Kalmadi, secretary-general Randhir Singh along with members of the contingent who finished their events in the second week of the Games.

Officials of the sports ministry, Sports Authority of India and the IOA received the members of the contingent.
