Vikek promotes Kurbaan at radio station

Mumbai: Actor Vivek Oberoi was at a radio station on Tuesday promoting his upcoming film Kurbaan where he plays a journalist. The actor spoke about the film and his conspicuous absence from the promotions of the film.

"I think if I wasn't an actor I would like to be a film journalist," he said.

Even as he was being badgered with questions on the film, Vivek brought a rather important question to notice.

"One question I thought you guys would ask but didn't ask me was about my single status. I really thought you would ask me that question," he said.

When asked if he was single, he replied, "I walked into it, didn't I".

Directed by Rensil Desilva, Kurbaan will release across 1700 screens. That is as big as it gets for a Hindi film. And even as the producers are going all out on promotion and marketing, Vivek is conspicuous by his absence from the film's posters and theatrical promos. But he is not complaining.

"The minute you have you have three people on a poster of a Dharma film, it's a love triangle right there, I think we had to avoid that. We need to send the communication out there that there is a love story, which is separate, and then there is this character, which is the different aspect of the film. So that was the conscious decision," he said.

With a Rs 50 crore budget, Kurbaan is all set to release on November 20.
