New Delhi: The Taslima Nasreen controversy has given fuel to Narendra Modi ahead of the Gujarat polls. Going for the kill on the campaign trail, the Chief Minister is using this as a stick to beat the Congress and the Central government.
While the Centre and the West Bengal government still look for a safe haven for the Bangladeshi writer, Modi has invited her to stay in Gujarat.
Accusing the Congress and Left of appeasing the minorities, Modi said Congress was a pseudo-secular party.
Modi even alleged the Congress has replaced India's map with a cross on the back of the two-rupee coin, something that's seen as a direct attack on UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen was sent out of West Bengal after her visa extension angered Muslim fundamentalists who turned violent.
She has since traveled to Jaipur in Rajasthan and finally to Delhi seeking safety. The Centre is yet to take a decision on her stay in India.
