Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Governor HR Bhardwaj has greeted Malayalees the world over during Onam, the biggest festival of the state.
"Onam thrives on the golden memories of a glorious past when everyone enjoyed plenty in an endearing ambience of equity," Bhardwaj said in a message.
Onam also evoked the hopes and aspirations of a land and its people for a much better future of enduring peace, progress and prosperity, the message said.
"I am extremely happy to extend my cordial greetings and good wishes to one and all on this auspicious occasion," the Governor said.

Onam is the state festival of Kerala. It is celebrated in honour of Mahabali, the mythical Asura king of ancient Kerala. Malayalees believe that on Onam day Bali visits his subjects. This harvest festival falls in August / September.
