Islamabad: One person was killed and another injured in a suicide attack on an office of the Special Branch of police in the Pakistani capital on Monday.
The suicide bomber detonated his explosives at the gate of the Special Branch office, located near the busy Sitara Market in Sector G-7.
There was no official word on casualties though TV channels reported that one Special Branch official was killed while another was injured.
Police immediately cordoned off the area and began scouring the site of the blast for clues.
Witnesses said they saw parts of the bomber's body lying scattered at the spot.
The Special Branch is responsible for the security of VVIPs and important installations in the city.
