ANGUL: Bana Sahu (65) was killed on Friday in Badagunduri village under Kaniha police limits. Father of sarpanch candidate Chumki Sahu, Bana was allegedly attacked by supporters of Chumki’s rival candidate.
He died on the spot.
According to the FIR filed by his son Loknath, some supporters of Chumki’s rival sarpanch candidate Padmini Sahu came to their house in the night and asked them to withdraw. When Bana protested, he was beaten to death. Police detained 12 supporters of Padmini, said SP Satyabrat Bhoi.
