Click to play videoMumbai: It's been over two months since sound engineer Resul Pookutty won an Oscars the celebrations back home refuse to die down. On Tuesday evening the talented sound recordist was felicitated by none other than Amitabh Bachchan.
The Western India Motion Pictures and Sound Engineering Association honoured Resul on Tuesday.
"After the Oscar nominations I got a call from Mr Bachchan, he was the first one to call me and congratulate me. I told him then that I feel I have already won the awards and he asked why do you say so, I said this is the one phone call billion people wait for," said Resul.
Big B was all praises for the man of the moment,"Resul ke bare main kya kahoon, humne saath main bahut saari films ki hai, aur unhone unda kam kiya hai. Ab is bare main baat karna phiki baat hogi kyunki woh ab Oscar vijayta ho gaye hai (What can I say about Resul, we have worked together in many films and he has done exceptional work in all projects. There is no point in talking about this as he is an Oscar winner," he said.
Resul made sure he carried all his trophies at this event for a proud display. The Oscar, Bafta and all the awards only gave an idea of the talented man with the magical sound of music.
