Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Ajai Bishnoi has resigned over the multi-crore health scam in the state.
While Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been silent so far, pressure is building on him to come out with answers, especially after pictures of postmortems conducted in the open surfaced.

After the story was broadcast, it was alleged that the state government was aware that hundreds of crores of rupees meant for health services were being siphoned off.
In fact, income tax officials had informed the government about the corruption during September 2007 after a raid at the residence of Health Director Yogi Raj Sharma.
"Our job is to tax the income on which it has been evaded. We have informed the state government and my job is over. They have to take action," Director Investigation, Income Tax department, AK Singh said then.
The state government allegedly chose to sit on the information and Bishnoi and his associates allegedly kept siphoning off the money.
Chouhan defends the lack of action. "To say that there is a scam going on is not enough. The health minister has also put forward his side of the story and so I would not like to say anything specifically," he says.
Bishnoi apparently resigned under pressure from the BJP high command.
So far there is no word from the government on whether it was going to investigate how the money meant for the health department was siphoned off.
