New Delhi: The Prime Minister may be clear on India's nuclear commitment, but the nuclear issue continues to rage in Parliament.
Both the houses were adjourned after Opposition members protested the formation of a UPA-Left committee to deliberate on the Indo-Us nuclear deal.
The NDA and the UNPA are angry that they have been left out of the mechanism completely.
On Thursday, a high powered comittee of Congress and Left leaders was constituted to address the Left's concerns over the deal.
The findings of the committee will be taken into account while operationlising the agreement.
However, the Opposition wants the Government to form a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the issue — a demand that has been rejected by the Centre.
When asked about the issue, External Affairs Minister, Pranab Mukherjee said, "It is an internal matter between the UPA and the left. I strongly refuse a JPC in the Indo-US nuclear deal."
