End of ordeal, Stolt Valor crew back home

New Delhi: The families of the Indian crew members of the hijacked ship Stolt Valor were overjoyed as their loved ones returned home after spending two months under the captivity of Somalian pirates at the Gulf of Aden.

The captain of Stolt Valor, Prabhat Kumar Goyal is finally back home along with 6 other crew members.

The sailors were greeted at the International airport in New Delhi by their anxious families and eager crowds. Four other crew members have reached Mumbai.

They returned home early Tuesday morning.

Captain Goyal thanked his wife Seema and the Indian navy and Indian government.

He also called for a UN mission and co-coordinated patrolling by the world's navies to end piracy in those waters.

He also spoke of his ordeal but says he will return to sail in the world's most dangerous waters.

The Captain and his crew flew in from Muscat where they underwent medical and psychological check-ups after they were released from captivity.

The merchant vessel Stolt Valor was taken hostage by Somali pirates off the coast of Yemen on September 15.

They were released last Sunday after the ransom demand of $2.5 mn by the pirates were met.
