The special court for CBI cases on Monday posted the orders on the bail petition filed by IRAS officer K V Brahmananda Reddy to August 14. Reddy was arrested by the CBI in the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assets case.
The defence counsel informed the court that it was an IAS officer, Manmohan Singh, who had read out the agreement of the Vanpic project before the cabinet and not Brahmananda Reddy.
Both the officers were posted in the industries department when the Vanpic project took shape.
The CBI counsel said they would question Manmohan Singh too and would not leave anyone involved in the case.
The agency opposed Brahmananda Reddy’s bail plea on the ground that he might influence witnesses and tamper with evidence as he had exclusive knowledge of the Vanpic project deals.
