Bhubaneswar (Orissa): B B Mohanty is no longer in hiding. The Orissa DG reported to work early on Friday morning in an ambulance just hours after the Rajasthan Police team left Cuttack.

Mohanty took complete advantage of the confusion over the court order on his arrest. Even the Orissa Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, told CNN-IBN that his government would act only after definite directions from the Rajasthan court.

"I assure that as soon as we get definite court orders on the matter, we will take whatever action is necessary to uphold the law," said Naveen Patnaik.

Mohanty, however, claims he was never in hiding and that the Rajasthan Police is unnecessarily harassing him, for which there is no need as he did not know the whereabouts of his son, Biti Mohanty.

His son Biti Mohanty was arrested for the rape of a German tourist and B B Mohanty is accused of helping him jump parole.

Earlier, B B Mohanty had told CNN-IBN that he would continue with his efforts to make his son Biti Mohanty surrender, and that the Rajasthan Police should cooperate with him.

"I have approached all my contacts to try and trace Biti, and as soon as I get any information on him, I will be the first person to give this information to the Rajasthan Police," senior Mohanty had told CNN-IBN.

Meanwhile the anticipatory bail plea of B B Mohanty, which was to be heard in the Jaipur court on Friday, has been postponed to Saturday.
