Paes hopes to capitalise on Brazilian pair's fatigue

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won their first round match against French pair of Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon 6-3, 6-3. The seventh seeded Indians now meet the Brazilian pair of Marcelo Melo and Andre Sa, who upstaged the Czech pair of Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek 5-7, 6-2, 8-6 in a gruelling first round match at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre. Paes spoke to CNN-IBN's Digvijay Singh Deo after the match.
Digvijay Singh Deo: First match and a 6-3, 6-3 win over the Frenchmen. Feeling very good?
Leander Paes: Yes. It was a good start to the Olympics. We played very well today. We played solid, we knew that if we stayed within our repertoire and just produced good solid tennis, we would do well. And that's just exactly what we did.
Digvijay Singh Deo: Before the start you said how with every passing day the chemistry will get more and more better because it is just a matter of spending more time together. Both of you looked very sharp.
Leander Paes: Yes. Today was a good performance. Already now the match is won, we can put it behind us as we have got a big match tomorrow against the Brazilians - Melo and Sa. They played an excellent match today. They beat Berdych and Stepanek of the Czech Republic which I personally believe would have been a tough battle. They won that at 8-6 in the third. So t6he fact that we are playing tomorrow, they have come off a really tough match and the condition here is very hot and humid so they are bound to be a bit fatigued. So that is something that we have got to capitalise on.
Digvijay Singh Deo: We noticed you both were communicating in Hindi. That generally doesn't happen but it was a sight - Leander and Mahesh talking in Hindi.
Leander Paes: We have spoken in Hindi from Day I since we have played together going back to 1996-97 and not many people believe that we speak good Hindi. Hum kafi acchi bolte hain (We speak good Hindi).
