Paris: Third seeds Leander Paes and his Czech partner Lukas Dlouhy sailed into the second round of the French Open men's doubles event with a straight-set win over locals Sebastien de Chaunac and Benoit Paire in Paris.
Paes and Dlouhy beat their rivals 6-1 6-3 late last night to set up a clash with another unseeded duo of James Cerretani and Sergiy Stakhovsky.
The Ukrainian-American pair defeated Spaniards Nicolas Almagro and Ivan Navarro 6-2 4-6 6-2 in the first round.
Earlier, shrugging off her singles defeat, Sania Mirza gelled well with Taipei's Chia-Jung Chuang to record a straight sets victory over Ipek Senoglu and Yanina Wickmayer in women's doubles of the French Open on Wednesday.
The 14th seeded Indo-Taipei pair defeated the Turkey-Belgium combination 7-5, 6-1 in one hour and 14 minutes to book a second-round berth.
Sania and Chia converted all the five breakpoints in the match and saved three of five they faced on their own serve.
After winning the first set, Sania and Chia did not give any chance to their opponents and it took them just 24 minutes to seal the second set and match.
They will next face winners of the match between Viktoriya Kutuzova/Aravane Rezai and Agnieszka Radwanska/Urszula Radwanska.
Sania had crashed out of the singles event after losing her first round match to Kazakhstan's Galina Voskoboeva on Tuesday.
