Pak beat India in first hockey match

Chandigarh: Pakistan defeated India 2-1 in the first of the six-match hockey series in Chandigarh on Friday.

The visitors found the net through the sticks of Tariq Aziz in the 15th minute and Shakeel Abbasi in the 56th minutes.

India reduced the lead in the 63rd minute when Tushar Khandekar scored.

But it came too late as Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

The second match will be played at the same venue onm Saturday.
