New Delhi/Islamabad: While tough-talking Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked the world to isolate Pakistan for using terrorism as state policy, his statements created confusion in the Pakistani establishment.

In its response within hours of Manmohan Singh's speech, Islamabad spoke out in many voices.

While some said the terror dossier provided by India was being looked into, others from the Pakistani establishment said the evidence is simply not credible.

“It's not complete evidence, hopefully there's more to come,” said Minister for State, Malik Ammad Khan.

The contradiction came within no time when Pak official Shahid Malik said, “India has handed over the material to us. There is no question of rejecting it. We are examining it”.

While Pakistan's foreign office rejected Manmohan Singh’s remarks as a propaganda offense, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari even were more belligerent.

Zardari reportedly told Gilani over the phone that, “Pakistan is a responsible state and has always wanted peace. But this should not be considered its weakness".

But Islamabad knows its denials are now on a weak wicket and sources in Pakistan say a committee will examine the evidence provided by India. The committee will also review Ajmal Kasab's confession, which Islamabad claims is doctored.

“The confession given by the so-called Pakistani was in Hindi. Pakistanis do not speak in Hindi,” said Pakistani Ambassador to UK, Wajid Shamsul Hasan.

All these points would be included in a counter-dossier that Pakistan is believed to be preparing with proof of India's alleged involvement in terror acts on Pakistani territory.

Officials say Islamabad will now would soon demand that a Pakistani team be allowed to question Kasab in the presence of the Indian investigators.
