Rahila Vakil is in India looking for her father Mohd Vakil, who was on the ill-fated Samjhauta Express. Rahila had read her father's name in newspapers back home. Her search has yielded no results so far.
Rahila says, “I saw him on TV and read his interview. But when I came here, I could neither find him nor any of his belongings.”
Now that Pakistani authorities have set up a help desk at the civil hospital in Panipat, Rahila hopes to find her father soon.
Pakistan High Commissioner Mukhtar Hussain, Councillor said, “We will sort it out soon.”
The mishap has brought stories of injured, dead and the missing but there are son many human stories which have got buried in the coaches, which were completely burnt and perhaps, these stories would never surface again.
