New Delhi: The fourth auspicious day of bathing and the third and final shahi snan will take place on Tuesday on the occasion of Basant Panchami at the Ardh Kumbh mela in Allahabad.

Usual restrictions on plying of vehicles are in force, while security has been tightened following a turn-out of over two crore people on the previous shahi snan on mauni amavasya on January 19.

Over four crore people, including eight lakh saints of 12 akharas have so far taken a sacred bath in the Ganga and its confluence with Yamuna and Saraswati.

Tuesday heralds the beginning of spring and day is also dedicated to the worship of the goddess of learning, Saraswati.

There would be two more days of auspicious bathing on maghi purnima on February 2 and Mahashivratri on February 16 when the Ardh Kumbh congregation comes to a end.
