Pak to seek civil N-deal with US: Gilani

UNI

Multan: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that Pakistan will soon seek a civil nuclear agreement with the United States similar to the one that it has signed with India.

Talking to media at the Circuit in Multan on Friday, Gilani said that statements issued by US presidential candidates – John McCain and Barack Obama regarding Pakistan’s suspect status as far as terrorism was concerned, were part of their election rhetoric.

Pakistan, he said, was a frontline ally in the war against terror and the US could not win that war without Islamabad’s help.

“We are not isolated. Our foreign policy is very effective and we enjoy friendly relations with China,” the Dawn quoted Gilani, as saying.
