Jammu: A suspected Pakistani militant was killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces on higher reaches of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, official sources said.
''One suspected Pakistani militant, whose identity is yet to be established, was gunned down in an encounter at Dewda Nullah in Marmat area of Doda this afternoon,'' an official source said.
As per last report, encounter was in progress as a small group of hidden militants were still firing on troops in the Marmat area, the sources said.
Earlier, a Rashtriya Rifles (RR) jawan was injured when militants attacked an army patrol party in Chhatroo area of this hilly district.
Militants had laid an ambush to attack the patrol party, the sources said.
The security forces launched a combing and search operation in the area. However, no update was received from the area.
