New York: She was once criticized for avoiding the media, but not anymore since the election, the public has seen much from Alaskan governor Sarah Palin and they are about to see even more.
“We'll have footage of her in the spot but it’s basically going to be people saying thank you to her,” says Sal Russo.
The 'thanks' coming from an organization called our country deserves better a conservative political action committee, which is creating TV spots thanking Palin for running for office. Their goal: to counter negative reports about Palin leaked from her former running mate's camp.
“We thought that was unfair, Sarah Palin has done her own interviews in the past several days and she's done terrific and we want her to see that Americans stand behind her,” says Sal Russo.
Sal Russo's group has released ads before supporting Palin. However, that was during the campaign, speculations arise as to why is it being done even now.
“Yeah, it is incredible that something like this is coming out for the VP candidate but it goes to the fact that Sarah Palin did a lot more to reassure conservatives then John McCain,” says Amanda Carpenter.
Some campaign watchers say the new TV spots and Palin doing more post-election interviews are steps toward building her political future.
Still unclear, whether Palin's new course will help in the long run, political watchers say the governor cost McCain votes during the election but CNN’S latest poll shows more people now think favourably of her than unfavourably.
