Panchkula: Defence officers are outraged after a gurudwara in Panchkula refused to conduct prayer ceremonies for Maha Vir Chakra winner Lt General RS Dyal, who died in 2012. The gurudwara, citing his participation in Operation Bluestar of 1984, refused to hold prayers for him.
The gurudwara management told the General's wife that Lt General Dyal should have resigned for his role in having led Operation Blue Star in 1984.
Though defence officers and experts are shocked by the gurudwara's act in snubbing a distinguished military officer, the Shiromani Akali Dal leaders have decided to remain silent.
