New Delhi: The one-man judicial commission on Sunday evening submitted its interim report confirming sexual assault and murder in the alleged rape and murder of two women in Shopian.
The commission has blamed doctors, the local and district police for lapse in duty.
The commission was set up on June to investigate the alleged rape and murder of two women, which triggered massive protests in the Valley. The two women were allegedly raped and murdered on May 30.
Police initially refused to register the case of rape and murder but after medical reports came, two separate cases of rape and murder were registered.
But the situation is still tense across the Kashmir Valley, particularly in Shopian town which has remained closed for over 20 days.
