Kozhikode: Five people, accompanying the body of a youth who died in an accident, were killed when the ambulance they were travelling in plunged into a river on Saturday.
The dead included the youth's parents.
The accident took place at Thottilppalam, 70 km from Kozhikode. Six people suffered serious injuries in the accident.
The ambulance was coming from Bangalore bringing the body of Kuniyil Vijesh to his native place at Kallachi in Kozhikode district.
Those killed in the accident include Vijesh's father Dasan and mother Anitha, the police said.
