Pastry-eating competition kills Siemen's exec

Gurgaon: In a shocking incident in Gurgaon, a young engineer died while eating pastries during an office pastry-eating competition.

Saurabh Sabharwal, a 22 year old engineer working with Siemens Public Communication Network died during the competition held by the company in their Gurgaon office on Wednesday.

Doctors say Saurabh died of suffocation when a pastry choked his wind pipe.

Max hospital doctor said, "He was brought dead, a part of the pastry was stuck in his wind pipe."

Saurabh's family is in a state of shock at the death of their son, especially under such circumstances.

The family has asked for a thorough probe into the incident.

Saurabh's father R K Sabharwal says, "This is negligent and irresponsible on part of the company to conduct a competition like this without proper first aid or medical supervision."

While the postmortem report is awaited, the police are questioning the role of the company in the accident and also looking at the possible action that can be taken against them.
