Patna: Police on Tuesday lathicharged protesting students in Patna who were agitating against the murder of a student on Monday evening. Reports say students at a hostel affiliated to the Patna University had an altercation with some locals. One of the students had died in the ensuing firing.
Last week police had lathicharged protesting teachers in Patna, following which the Supreme Court had asked the State government to explain the matter.
The video footage of the protests showed the policemen entering the tents of the protesting teachers and not sparing anyone sitting there, including women. The lathicharge took place outside the Bihar Assembly.
