New Delhi: Kidnappings in broad daylight continue unabated in Patna. Just days after a class VIII student was abducted and found murdered, another student was kidnapped by unidentified persons in the heart of the city on Friday morning.
Akash Pandey, a class VII student of DAV Public School, was reportedly pulled into a green Maruti van when he was cycling to the school located in city’s Shastri Nagar area.
His father Yogendra Pandey is a government employee in the Public Health and Engineering Department.
Eyewitnesses told police the incident occurred near city’s J D Women's college when three persons intercepted him, bundled him into the van and sped off.
The van bore the registration number BR 1M 9612. However, police suspect that the number might be fake.
Police say they are conducting raids across the city.
Akash's kidnapping came barely five days after the body of Roshan, a class VIII student of Patna Central School, was found in Kankarbagh locality of the state capital on August 6, three days after he was allegedly abducted by his friends.
