New Delhi: Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar has hit out at the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi's Food security Bill. In an exclusive interview to CNN-IBN, Pawar said there are not enough funds to implement Food Security Bill in its present form.

This is the first time he is speaking out against the bill after it was cleared by the Cabinet.

"The total provision for entire agriculture ministry is 20,000 crore. And subsidy is as of today 65 crore, it might go to 1 lakh crore. Solution is that until we will not be able to implement, we will not be comfortable to implement this," he said.

On Sonia Gandhi, he said, "This is not a question of individual. This is a question of investment in agriculture."

Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi, however, said that the Agriculture Minister should have refrained from making "such comments".

"Once the Bill has been passed by the Cabinet, individual views don't matter. The Agriculture Minister is part of the Cabinet, so he shouldn't make such comments."

Singhvi added, "If there are any faults in the Bill, it can be rectified."
