Mumbai: Training his guns at people from Bihar again, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray blamed them for rising incidents of rapes in the country. Thackeray said that while everyone is talking about the Delhi gangrape, nobody is asking where these men came from.
"Everyone is merely talking about the rape. No one is asking who did this. So many cases are slapped against me (for speaking against Biharis) but no one is talking about the fact that all these rapists are from Bihar," he said addressing a rally in Mumbai.
There has been a public outrage since the gangrape case of a 23-year-old paramedical student in the national capital came to light. Thousands of protesters took to the streets demanding stricter anti-rape laws. On Saturday, a Delhi court took cognisance of the chargesheet filed by the Delhi Police on Thursday. The court also summoned the five accused named in the chargesheet on Monday, January 7. The case of the minor accused in the case will also be heard on Monday before a Juvenile Justice Board.
