Vijayawada: Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday said people in West Bengal favoured TMC as they were tired of the "Left's dictatorship", while in Tamil Nadu AIADMK benefited as the ruling DMK was hit by the 2G scam.

"People were tired of the dictatorship by the Left. Many sections of the society in West Bengal suffered due to the decisions taken by the state government, which is why they sought a change and voted for the Trinamool Congress (TMC)," he said, reacting to the results of the Assembly polls.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the executive committee meeting of the BJP Minority Morcha.

"In Tamil Nadu, corruption charges against DMK leaders, especially in the 2G spectrum case, changed the political situation that led to AIADMK's win," the former BJP President maintained.

In Assam, the Opposition AGP and BJP contested the polls on their own, which led to a division of votes "to the benefit of Congress", Naidu stated.

Though BJP tried to put up a good fight in Tamil Nadu and Kerala Assembly polls, it failed to win seats, he said.

Naidu also alleged misuse of government machinery by the ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh during the election campaign for bypoll to Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.

"The Kadapa bypoll results will come out shortly. But the Chief Minister and his entire Cabinet had misused the government machinery during the election campaign," the BJP leader claimed.
