Liverpool: Everton provisionally moved into the top four of the Premier League by beating Wigan 2-1 on Wednesday to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches.
With Arsenal not playing on Boxing Day, Everton rise one spot to fourth place after scoring twice in the second half to also preserve their unbeaten home run at Goodison Park this season.
Everton midfielder Leon Osman found the net in the 52nd minute for his third league goal of the season, and England teammate Phil Jagielka made sure of the victory in the 77th.
