From Journalist Amitabh Bachchan in Rann to Vishal Bhardawaj's much awaited Ishqiya - starring Naseeruddin Shah. There's a lot to look forward to this weekend.
Rann
Directed by Ram Gopal Verma, Rann is the story of Vijay Harshvardhan Malik a big wig in the media world, played by Amitabh Bachchan. After years of staying on top, his channel is pushed down in popularity ratings by a rival. The film revolves around media ethics and the constant hunt for TRP's. Rann also stars Reitesh Deshmukh, Gul Panag and Paresh Raval.
Ishqiya
Directed by debutant Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, Ishqiya is a story of romance between two individuals caught in a web of crime, suspense, passion and deceit. Two thieves Khalujan played by Naseeruddin Shah and Babban played by Arshad Warsi are on the run from their boss. They seek refuge with an old friend and instead meet his widow Krishna played by Vidya Balan. As they plan their escape, their time spent together draws the duo closer to her.
The Blind Side
The Blind Side is the true story of a homeless and traumatized African-American boy who is taken in by a well-to-do white family who help him become an All American football player. Starring Sandra Bullock, this oscar front-runner is directed by John Lee Hancock
Harishchandrachi Factory
Mumbai will also see the release of India's oscar entry, Marathi film, Harishchandrachi Factory. The film depicts the trials and tribulations faced by the father of Indian cinema, Dada Sahib Phalke, as he was making Raja Harischandra in 1913.
