Mumbai: Even as Mumbai was under siege on the night of November 26, several mediapersons stood their ground even dodging bullets as they did their job.

Indian Express photographer Vasant Prabhu was among those who covered the terror attack right after the first gunshots at the Taj hotel.

As the Mumbai police first rushed into the hotel's north wing, Prabhu chose to follow them in.

Prabhu says, "Unko laga main hotel staff hoon, aur staff ko laga main police ke saath hoon (The police thought that I was the hotel staff and the hotel staff thought I was with the police). "

He did get exclusive first-hand photos, but he also found himself in the middle of the raging gunbattle between the police and the 4 terrorists that night.

"Thoda darr toh laga lekin profession hai to kya karein (I felt a little scared, but it’s my profession. This is how it works)," quips Prabhu.

Several mediapersons actually refused to take a break as the terror attack stretched to 60 hours.

Prabhu's wife who spent hours worrying about her husband's safety feels he hasn't let the trauma sink in yet.

Prabhu’s wife Vrushali says, "woh thode din tak disturbed the, lekin unko kaam pe jaane se rok nahin sakti (He was disturbed for a few days, but I can’t keep him from going to work).”
