Click to play videoNew Delhi: China's worst-kept secret may be out for the whole world to see. Tibetan Opposition groups on Tuesday emailed pictures that show dead bodies, allegedly of Tibetan protestors killed by the Chinese forces on the streets of Lhasa.
The Tibetan groups claimed this was the scene in Aba County in China's Sichuan province.
The Tibetan protesters also sent photos of hundreds of Chinese troops, vehicles on fire and policemen patrolling the streets.
Officials in Beijing said they don't know what is going on in Aba County.
A CNN Correspondent in Chengdu, China, said he tried to take a long drive on the narrow winding roads to the area, where he found policemen manning every checkpoint.
Locals told CNN that security has been tight in these areas for the last few days and that they have been told that hundreds of ethnic Chinese people have been killed so far.
CNN also reported a lot of troops movement in the area, trying to bring the situation under control.
"There are visible signs of military build-up in the area with dozens of Army trucks, some carrying heavily-armed soldiers, heading north to Aba County. It's, however, unclear as to what they will be doing once they arrive," the report said.
Chinese police didn't allow a CNN team to enter the area beyond a point. "It was the end of the road and there was no way to confirm the allegations made by the Tibetan exiles," CNN said.
Meanwhile, Chinese forces and Tibetan protesters are still engaged in street clashes in various parts of the country. Beijing has blamed the supporters of the Dalai Lama for the violence while the Tibetan spiritual leader has denied it outright.
