'Pilot Inspektor,' seriously? Bizarre names of Hollywood celebrity kids

New Delhi: Actress Uma Thurman's daughter has joined the list of celebrity children with bizarre names. Thurman's daughter is justifiably called Luna at home since her official name is Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson.

William Shakespeare wouldn’t know that even ages down his popular line ‘What’s in a name’ from 'Romeo and Juliet' would still make sense to many. The present Hollywood celebrities have their own take when it comes to naming their kids. Commonly used names seem too bland.

Victoria Beckham and David Beckham named their daughter Harper Seven Lee. The seven in her name comes from David’s soccer shirt during his stint at the Manchester United and Victoria added Harper Lee to her daughter’s name as a tribute to her favourite author.

Hollywood celebrities have their own take when it comes to naming their kids. Commonly used names seem too bland.

And, it’s not just the Beckhams who seem to be inspired by everyday things. Beyonce and Jay-Z named their daughter Blue Ivy and apparently the Blue in her name comes from the Jay-Z's trilogy of albums named The Blueprint, The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse and The Blueprint 3.

For actress Reese Witherspoon, it's her native place that inspired her to name his son. Reese, who spent her childhood in Nashville, Tennessee, called her son Tennessee James Toth.

Inspiration seems to be the key for many celebrities but there are also some who try to be quirky just for the heck of it. Actor Jason Lee calls his youngest son Pilot Inspektor, while actress Gwyneth Paltrow named her daughter Apple. And, if these names were not enough to raise eyebrows, actress Shannyn Sossamon named her son Audio Science.

Take That star Mark Owen named his son Fox India Owen, while director Steven Speilberg took inspiration from Superman series to name his son Destry. Inspiration or no-inspiration, Hollywood celebrities are certainly game for some unusual names.
