Mumbai: After being the cricket icon and a cricket commentator Wasim Akram has now donned the role of a judge for a dance reality show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena on Colors.
Wasim has now got a chance to criticise cricketers not on the pitch, but on stage for their dancing skills, but all are wondering since when did the former cricketer become an expert on dancing?
"When they asked me to judge the show, I wasn't shocked but my question was why me? Then they said because there are cricketers to be judged, so then I said I'll do it. And then they said Sushmita Sen is also going to judge the show, so then I said I'm on the next flight," he said.
When asked how does he judge the moves of cricketers on stage? he was quick to reply,"Its always easy to judge. But to dance on the stage, especially if you are an ex or present sportsmen, it's a totally different ballgame altogether."
"Performing on stage requires a different pressure, different technique and different temperament. I think these guys have excelled eventually in that," he added.
While talking about the show, the former cricketer couldn't stop raving about the multi talented cricketers on stage.
"I was amazed by their performance. Though in the beginning they were a little shy, especially Irfan was very shy and very stiff. Also Dinesh Kartik was a bit stiff in the beginning, but eventually they've become incredible. And then I realised if one is talented, then they can do whatever one wants in life," he said.
It may be a different ball game altogether, but it looks like the cricketers turned dancers are surely getting their act together.
