Vadodara: Strongly backing the Jan Lokpal Bill, BJP Lok Sabha MP from Vadodara Balkrishna Shukla on Monday said he favours direct talks between the Government and Anna Hazare, who is fasting in Delhi for the last one week for a strong anti-corruption agency.
"There should be no amendment in the Jan Lokpal Bill (drafted by Hazare and his team) and it should be placed before Parliament for consideration," he said.
The Centre should talk to the 73-year-old social activist directly without engaging any mediator, Shukla said, adding "I have extended my support to Anna's movement."
Several Hazare supporters visited Shukla's house in Vadodara and sought his backing for a strong Lokpal Bill.
"I promised them that I will support the Jan Lokpal Bill if it is tabled in the Lok Sabha. Our party is supporting Hazare's movement," he added.
