Playlist: Reliving Kishore Kumar-Rajesh Khanna magic

New Delhi: "Kishore Kumar was my soul and I was his body," said Rajesh Khanna in an interview once. Bollywood's first superstar Rajesh Khanna who passed away on July 18, 2012 was Kishore Kumar's very close friend. Kishore Kumar became Rajesh Khanna's official voice during 1970s and 1980s. No wonder, after Rajesh Khanna's demise, all the television channels repeatedly played Kishore's songs entire day.

Kishore Kumar, born on August 4, 1929 is still counted amongst the most popular Indian singers. Even today, most of the youngsters have his songs on his playlists. Kishore Kumar met Rajesh Khanna on the sets of 'Aradhana'. The film became a huge success. The songs sung by Kishore Kumar in the film, ‘Roop Tera Mastana’, ‘Kora Kagaz Tha Yeh Man Mera’ and ‘Mere Sapno Ki Rani’, became extremely successful. This was just a beginning.

Along with RD Burman, Kishore Kumar and Rajesh Khanna churned out one hit after the other. ‘Kati Patang’ released in 1970 was this trio’s first film together. Songs like ‘Yeh Shaam Mastani’ and ‘Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai’ hit the bull’s eye. Kishore Kumar's songs can be called a key reason of many Rajesh Khanna’s films.
