New Delhi: It is what can be called a new experiment to popularise science and research among youngsters.
‘The Science Express’, a 13-compartment train was flagged off by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and German chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday.
The remarkable feature about the train is that it has one bogey exclusively for children where they can go beyond classroom science.
The train has coaches that exhibit the origin of science in India, but what could be the crowd puller are coaches on international technology.
One of the coaches even has a Mercedes of future how it could look like five years from now.
“What you see inside the train is the newest of the newest of science,” Manager, Science Express, Dr Andreas Trepte
The train is being run by chemicals major BASF, the German government and the Department of Science and Technology in India.
The train will go to 57 destinations across the country and entry will be free.
So if you are a science buff then it will be a real treat for you but even if you were not, after the whole experience you would say was it science and technology at all.
