New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh called Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday night to garner support for Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari for the President and Vice President poll.

He also called CPI leader AB Bardhan seeking his support. Both the parties remain undecided on who they would back. The Trinamool Congress has so far not backed either Pranab or the opposition's candidate PA Sangma for the President poll.

The party is also said to be keen on Gopal Gandhi or Krishna Bose for the Vice-President's post.

TMC MP Kunal Ghosh told PTI that Mamta hasn't taken a final call on either election yet. She won't be attending the UPA meeting on Saturday and will send Mukul Roy instead.
