PM steps in to clean Satyam Computers mess

New Delhi:The Central Government has also stepped into the Satyam Computers scam. Sources have told CNN-IBN that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has directed Cabinet Secretary KM Chandrashekhar to coordinate government's action on the Satyam scam.

Manmohan on Monday also reviewed developments at Satyam along with Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chief CB Bhave and senior Finance Ministry officials in New Delhi.

The government is also considering a bail out for the scam hit IT major.

Commerce & Industry Minister Kamal Nath said the government will consider it if the board came up with a proposal.

"The government intervened immediately, dissolved the board and has appointed a new board of three people. They have just started today. Once they come up with the proposal and it’s for the board to come up with a proposal, then the government will consider," Nath said.
