New Delhi: Pakistan Muslim League-N chief Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday claimed his party and their coalition allies had a two/thirds majority in the National Assembly.
At a luncheon meeting with co-chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party, Asif Ali Zardari and ANP leader Asfandyar Wali in Islamabad, all of them demanded the National Assembly be called immediately.
They said that military should have no further role in politics. Zardari also added that there was a need to change the system.
“We are not prepared to wait for a single more day as soon as the elections result is notified, the national assemblies will be convened the very next day,” said Sharif.
“Pakistan stands on the verge of disaster, on the verge of opportunities,” added Zardari.
The meeting between Zardari and Nawaz ended with talks on peaceful co-existence in Pakistan.
They finally arrived to a decision of removing constitutional anomalies. They also agreed on the restoration of judges.
